The Kent, 26-gun ship, East Indiaman, was launched in 1800. She had both commercial and war characteristics. Coming back from a trip to Bengal and Sumatra, she was captured in 1800 by the Confiance under the command of French privateer Robert Surcouf and was brought back to Port Louis, Mauricius where it was sold to a Danish merchant. From that date, her whereabouts are unknown.
