In our workshop, not only do we build models from our catalogue but also models tailored to our client’s requests.
We use a lot of different materials to make our models. The historic models are mostly made from wood. Apart from teak which is traditionally used on Mauritius, we also use 10 to 15 other types of wood such as mahogany, sapele, maple, walnut, ebony, pear, beech and pine. We saw our own wood that we let dry in our own storehouse.

The set up of the rigging is a very lengthy process. To create the best quality model, a high level of craftsmanship is needed but also a good technical knowledge on the workings of sails and riggings.
The great majority of the small parts used for creating our models are made in-house. We are quite proud of our wood carvings and sculptures with their high level of detail.
In our warehouse, we store numerous models and thousands of drawings, small parts, carvings and sails and we maintain a regular supply in raw materials.
It would also give us great pleasure to show you our workshop.
Several prestigious hotels on the island regularly exhibit our models. However, if you visited our workshop you would have a greater choice of models and would have a better understanding of the manufacturing process.
